Ola Salo plays the role of the iconic candy inventor Willy Wonka when the musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, based on Roald Dahl's classic, finally gets its Swedish premiere on September 21, 2024, under the direction of Mattias Carlsson in StarWorks.
Poor, kind-hearted and candy-loving Charlie grows up near Wonka's mysterious and mythical chocolate factory. When Wonka announces that he has hidden five golden tickets in as many chocolate bars, Charlie becomes one of the lucky children to win a visit to the factory. But all is not as sweet as it seems within the gates.
The other families are terribly spoiled, and Wonka's helpful oompa-loompies have a hard time keeping company. The visit will be both a wonderful and frightening journey, where the greedy will be punished along the winding path of the sugar meadows. The wonders of the chocolate factory are created by imagination and can only be seen if you believe in them.
