Christmas at Christiania Teater
This December, Christiania Teater invites you to a brand-new Christmas experience—a warm, beautiful, and atmospheric concert performance where music, storytelling, and the Christmas spirit take center stage.
On stage, you will meet four of Norway’s most beloved artists: Sven Nordin, Svein Tindberg, Margaret Berger, and Knut Marius Djupvik, joined by the vocal group Pitsj and the string ensemble Saphir Quartet, among others.
Under the direction of Bjarte Hjelmeland, this becomes far more than a traditional Christmas concert. Through classic Christmas melodies, Norwegian favorites, and beautiful stories, a stage experience is created where music and words are given equal prominence. Humor meets sincerity, and tradition meets reflection, in a performance that casts a wide net and welcomes everyone.
At a time of year often filled with errands, end-of-year gatherings, and a hectic pace, we want to offer the opposite: a moment to breathe. An evening where you can lower your shoulders, sit back, and let the Christmas spirit come to you.
Located in the heart of Oslo, right by Spikersuppa, the beautiful Christiania Teater provides the perfect setting for this experience. The historic, newly renovated theater offers an intimate and personal atmosphere—ideal for a Christmas concert that focuses on a close connection with both the artists and the music.
