Starworks and Over Norge, will take over the operation of the venerable theater in Stortingsgata 16 in Oslo from September 2022.
The building will be refurbished for multiple millions when Eiendomsspar takes over the owner company. CEO, Christian Ringnes, says enthusiastically:

When we now also together with our new partners in Starworks and Over Norge will breathe new life into the historic theater with performances of the highest class, the house will continue its historical tradition of being a place for adventurous experiences.
Starworks and Over Norge will produce their own productions, in addition to renting out the theater for events, conferences, private events and TV and film recordings. All stage technology is upgraded with the latest in sound and light. Gourmet chef Ole Jonny Eikefjord who is the man behind, among others Restaurant Eik Annen Etasje, Restaurant Fjord and Teatro, will exclusively be responsible for the food at banquets.
"Boutique hotel" in the heart of Oslo.
Hotel Christiania Teater is part of Nordic Hotels & Resort with a total of 102 non-smoking designer rooms. Restaurant Teatro can tempt with Norway's best pizzas that provide taste experiences out of the ordinary.

History in the walls.
New history is written when the building will now receive a solid upgrade more than a hundred years after it first welcomed "Opera Comique" in 1918. The intimate theater accommodates 500 spectators in theater setup and 256 guests in banquet setup with long tables with good visibility to the stage. Starworks and Over Norge will for the future ensure new life with new stars where Kirsten Flagstad in her time performed in Norway's first permanent opera company. With a hotel, theater and restaurant under one roof, guests can enjoy a full evening in one and the same building.
The building in Nordic Neo - Renaissance style was designed by architect Henry Fearnley Coll in collaboration with the Danish architect Hack Kampmann. After the occupying forces established propaganda theater in the building in 1941-45, Det Norske Teatret, Filmteatret and Christiania Teater were successively located in Stortingsgaten 16, before it was converted into a hotel in 2010.
Grand opening! On Tuesday August 23rd, the stage is set for a combined press conference and gala show. Starworks and Over Norge will then also reveal what will be their first stage production.
- This will be the capital's own Boulevard theater with an edge! We can reveal that there will be a world premiere in early 2023 of a play based on an Oscar-winning film. We have secured some of the country's finest actors so you can all look forward to some quality plays in near future promises theater director Bjarte Hjelmeland.
