StarWorks and Taran are finally taking the feelgood musical Grease back to the capital!
Chateau Neuf will be transformed into American Rydell High in the spring of 2018 and we promise a fast-paced and spectacular version of the musical classic, a fun and energetic tribute to the innocent American 50s on the way to the more sinful 60s.
GREASE was first staged in Chicago in 1971 before moving to Broadway fairly quickly. It was then made world famous in 1972 in the musical film with Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta in the lead roles. Songs like "You're the one that I want", "We go together" and "Summer nights" should be familiar to most people. And everyone knows what to do with their arms when "Greased lightning" thunders loose on the dance floor.
Tom Sterri directs and Tomas Glans choreographs for a large ensemble consisting of Bjørnar Reime (Danny), Charlotte Brænna (Sandy), Øivind Blunck (Johnny Casino & The Teenage Angel), Hilde Lyrån (Mrs. Lynch), Mari Haugen Smistad (Rizzo), Håvard Eikeseth (Kenickie), Tarjei Sandvik Moe (Doody), Guro Karijord (Frenchie), Katarina Lund (Cha Cha), Elise Berg-Hansen (Patty), Espen Bråten Kristoffersen (Roger), Simen Gloppen (Eugene), Anette L. Waaler (Marty), Trine Bariås (Jan), John Masaki (Johnny Casino) and Daniel Grindeland (Sonny).
The orchestra is supervised by Matthew Reeve (MD and keys) and consists of Frøydis Grorud (sax and flute), Jonny Martin (guitar and MD assistant), Per-Kristian Breivik (bass) and Eirik-André Rydningen (drums).

For en herlig nyhet for alle som elsker klassisk musikal og sceneglede! Grease er virkelig et fyrverkeri av dans, sang og 50-talls nostalgi, og med navn som Øivind Blunck, Hilde Lyrån og Tarjei Sandvik Moe på plakaten lover dette å bli en opplevelse som rocker både scenen og publikum.
