Starworks is once again involved in the Constitution Jubilee, this time in the second and last of two major live TV productions from Eidsvoll. Starworks is responsible for stage direction and as part of the editorial team together with Nrk.
Eidsvoll 1814 is decorated for the great Constitution Day. It's spring, there's flowers, there's music and shows. It's Norway's national day - Constitution Day on 17 May!
The Storting's party performance from the stage in the park outside the Eidsvoll building will gather all of Norway to celebrate the Constitution, the people's government and 200 years of peace in the Nordic region. Artists from all the Scandinavian countries contribute from the stage, while there is also room for reflection on our shared past, present and future.
The program is broadcast live on NRK1 from 19.30 and lasts until 21.00. The event is open to everyone and the public is asked to be present at the event area no later than 6.30pm.
Hosts on stage are Haddy N'jie and Jakob Oftebro. Oftebro makes his debut as presenter during the constitutional marking on National Day. The new presenter duo is very much looking forward to leading the program from the stage on 17 May.
The stage show will be characterized by what is loved by the people through well-known and popular artists. With the programme, the Storting wants the whole of Norway to feel that they are taking part in the big party, the celebration of the Constitution and the values that form the foundation of the National Day celebration. A great opening number with a large children's choir from Eidsvoll sets the mood for the evening.
I am looking forward to being part of the Storting's folk festival on 17 May! We have a brilliant bunch of artists, good guests, 3 royal houses and probably a fantastic audience in a proper May 17 mood, says presenter Haddy.
Among the artists we find Sissel Kyrkjebø together with the violin talent Joakim Røbergshagen (12 years) and the Telemark Chamber Orchestra. We get to hear a joint Scandinavian song number by Ingrid Olava (Norway), Oscar Danielson (Sweden) and Asbjørn Toftdahl (Denmark). NRK Super soloists and Eidsvoll ballet center give us their very own constitutional rap. People's favorite Ole Paus and the multi-talented Peder "LidoLido" Losnegård will contribute with both beautiful and resilient musical features. There will be historical music by the concert group "TRE", with percussion instruments made from several linden trees that stood close to the Eidsvoll building for 200 years. The group consists of musicians Markus Hernes, Eirik Raude and Bjarne Kvinnsland. Two fantastic dance performers, Daniel Sarr and Maria Karlsen, will also be seen during the TRE performance.
President of the Storting and host Olemic Thommessen will give the main speech for the day, and Prime Minister Erna Solberg will also take part on stage. The program will also feature conversations with, among others, actors Jan Gunnar Røise, Tora Berger and Gro Hammerseng, Mohamed "Mo" Abdi Farah, Russian president in Bodø Frida Nøvik, professor Frank Aarebrot, Per Fugelli and Else Kåss Furuseth.
In the closing number, Sissel Kyrkjebø leads in a nationwide and festive performance of the national anthem.
Welcome to the celebration of Constitution Day on May 17th 2014 at Eidsvoll!
