Dam the feather boa and hit the heels when the Great Theater's stage at the Östgöteatern in Norrköping is transformed into the nightclub La Cage aux Folles.
Laugh, suffer and feel together with the lovable and extravagant family. The couple Albin and Georges run the nightclub La Cage aux Folles where Albin is better known as the great prima donna Zaza. When George's son, whom the couple raised together, wants to marry the daughter of a very conservative politician, the family ties are put to the test.
La Cage aux Folles is a colorful musical comedy filled with boundless love, warmth and extravagant show numbers. It is at the same time a moving story about the right to be who you are and about daring to stand up for the one you love.
In the early 90s, La Cage aux Folles was a success on Östgötateatern's stages, then with Jörgen Mulligan and Christian Zell in the roles of Albin and Georges. Just over 20 years later, it is now Richard Carlsohn and Pontus Plænge who shoulder the mantle and carry the ostrich plumes further into the 2000s. Directed by Mattias Carlsson from Starworks, who previously gave us Sound of Music and The Addams Family.
